AEs program is a comprehensive conditioning camp that includes performance-based testing, high performance dryland conditioning, on-ice coaching, scrimmaging, power-skating, mental training, yoga, nutrition and more. AE's program is founded on cutting edge scientific training principles, led by top-level coaches and designed to maximize the full set of athletic attributes essential for gaining the edge over your competition.

Program Overview
AE coaches have worked with some of the biggest names in professional hockey today. They have extensive experience with high profile athletes from the NHL, NCAA and WHL; as well emerging players from all levels of hockey. AE is also proud to be the Official Strength & Conditioning Provider of Hockey Canada Skills Development Camps.
Your training will begin with comprehensive testing in alignment with NHL or NCAA protocols. AE will then fully customize your program to address your individual needs, objectives and timelines.
AEs coaches will guide you in developing your dynamic speed, strength, power, agility, quickness and position specific movement - while increasing your career longevity and resistance to injury. Your off-season program will develop your individual strengths and address your weaknesses, while ensuring you reach peak performance at precisely the right time - right as you head into camp.

Meet our High Performance Team
Brad McEwen ASCA, CSCS
Managing Director & Senior Performance Specialist
Brad has worked with professional and emerging hockey players in both Canada and the United States for nearly ten years. He has trained pros during their off-seasons, helped to prepare the Canadian World Junior Team for international competition and guided many young athletes through the transition from amateur to professional play. He is a former professional rugby player from Sydney Australia and specializes in the development of strength, speed, power and career longevity in sport. Brad also leads Hockey Canada's Development Program.
Paul Robertson BPE, CEP, CSCS
Director, Athlete Performance
Paul is a highly regarded technical hockey performance specialist. He has worked with professional and developing players for over a decade, having the privilege during that time to have trained some of the biggest names in hockey today. He has held leadership roles in well-known training centres including Twist Conditioning of Vancouver, BC and Talisman Centres Athlete Performance Enhancement.
Karen Kendall BKin, MKin, CSCS, CAT(c), CEP
Hockey Performance Specialist
Karen is one of the most experienced females around in hockey conditioning today. She has an extensive background as a former hockey player and professional conditioning specialist. She has worked as a Strength & Conditioning Consultant for Hockey Canada for several years and is also experienced with a wide range of developmental athletes. She is certified as a Clinical Athletic Therapist and continues to further her academic pursuits with a PhD in running injury rehab.
Andrew Milne
On-Ice Consultant
Andrew brings to AE, professional experience from both sides of the bench. He is a former pro hockey player and career coach who has worked with the WHLs Swiftcurrent Broncos and Kamloops blazers, as well as the AJHLs Canmore Eagles. He played several seasons in the WHL and also played professionally in Europe, before securing a position as an Assistant Coach in the WHL - being one of the youngest ever to do so.
Kyle Moir
Strength & Conditioning Intern
Kyle joined the AE team as an intern after training with AE during his hockey career. He is currently completing his Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) at Lakehead University with aspirations of becoming a professional conditioning coach. Kyle has an extensive background in hockey; he was drafted in the 5th round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators and played 5 years as goalie for the WHLs Swift Current Broncos.

Program Dates & Times
AE offers packages & training times to suit every players needs. You have the option to register for our full program (recommended for maximum results) or for AEs 8 week pre-camp intensive program. Other durations may also be available on request at a pro-rated cost.
The program is open to pro, college, junior and midget players.
High Performance Program (A)
16 Week Full Program
- May or June start
- Dryland training 5 days / week (2 hours / day)
- On-ice training / scrimmaging 2 days / week (July & August)
- Performance assessments and testing
- Athletes-only private training centre
- Senior Conditioning Coach
- Unlimited access to training centre
- Over 200 program hours
- Training gear
Cost: $220 per week = $3520 total
AE High Performance Program (B)
8 Week Program
- June or July start / Pre-camp intensive option
- Dryland training 5 days / week (2 hours / day)
- On-ice training / scrimmaging 2 days / week
- Performance assessments and testing
- Athletes-only private training centre
- Senior Conditioning Coaches
- Unlimited access to training centre
- Over 100 program hours
- Training gear
- Ends August 22nd
Cost: $240 per week = $1920 total
Elite High Performance Program
4 Week Blocks / Open to Pro Players only
- Private 1 on 1 Coaching with Senior High Performance Specialist
- Dryland training 5 days / week (2 hours / day)
- Performance assessments and testing
- Athletes-only private training centre
- Unlimited access to training centre
- Training gear
Cost: $1750 (per 4 week block)
Customized Home Program
AE’s customized home program is perfect for players from out of town and includes the following:
- Intake Meeting (by phone or in person)
- Functional testing and assessment
- Programming for 8 to 12 week block / 6 days per wk
- Unlimited athlete oriented email communication with Conditioning Specialist
- AE Training Manual

Enrolment Terms
Spots are limited to preserve program quality and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Payment may be made to secure your spot by cash, cheque or credit card.
For those participating in the full program, you may pay in full at the time of registration or you may choose to pay 50% upon registration and submit the balance via post-dated cheque for July 1st, 2009. For 8 week program participants, 50% deposit is due at time of registration, with the balance to be submitted via post-dated cheque for your start date.
Please note that there will be no sessions on statutory holidays unless otherwise advised. Due to the limited number of spots available, a non-refundable deposit of $500 will apply for cancellations made prior to program commencement. Cancellations must be made at least seven days prior to the program start date. No refunds will be issued thereafter.
